A precise, complex blend from the Cape's emblematic terroirs: Swartland and Stellenbosch.

Lourens Family Wines is a new project led by Franco Lourens. Thanks to critical acclaim, the winery has established itself as one to watch in the coming years. It was during his travels in California and Australia that he became aware of the diversity of terroirs that the Cape region has to offer. Back in South Africa, he worked alongside renowned winemaker Chris Alheit. It was in his cellars and under his watchful guidance that Franco began vinifying the first wines of his Lourens Family Wines project. Today, Franco has left Chris to devote 100% of his time to his project. Although the winery is still young, Franco Lourens' wines are surprisingly refined.

This wine is the second cuvée produced at the winery. In 2016, Franco profited from it to buy an engagement ring for his now wife, Lindi Carien. The wine bears her name, and her portrait appears on the label as a reminder of the loving devotion they have for each other. Lindi Carien is a complex and original blend of 27% Verdelho (the oldest vines of the grape variety in South Africa), 52% Chenin Blanc, 13% Colombard, 5% Grenache Blanc and 3% Palomino, from different sites in the Western Cape, a fine testimony to South Africa's rich diversity. Franco Lourens demonstrates his winemaking sensibility with this wine that expresses a beautiful duality. The nose is invitingly full, with hints of honey, beeswax and pastry. The palate, on the other hand, is crisp, with pomelo, citrus fruit and fine bitters. A beautiful white, with energy, emotion and personality to spare.
